October Wishlist

As my beauty collection is growing more and more, and as I run out of storage more and more, this months October Wishlist is more fashion weighted. Of course there are still some beauty related products though! Here are the things I can't wait to get my hands on in October.

Mango Black Lapels Wool Coat

Some people dread the days when Summer comes to an end. I, however, love it when autumn arrives. Who doesn't love comfy jumpers, blankets and warm cups of coffee on a crisp morning? Another autumn favourite of mine is when you can start wearing a warm coat. A coat can pull an entire outfit together and this one from Mango certainly will! I love the waterfall over sized shape and that it would go with so many outfits.

Topshop Upper East Side Sweatshirt

Another thing I love about autumn is sporting comfy jumpers. They are so easy to style and throw on on those cold early mornings. Topshop does some great autumn jumpers. They have recently started making really soft slogan jumpers with names of cities on them. I, of course, wanted this Upper East Side one as soon as I saw it. If I can't live there and pretend to be on Gossip Girl this jumper will make a good substitute.

Topshop Coated Jeans

I've wanted a pair of coated jeans since as long as I can remember but never got round to buying them. Topshop have just brought out some new coated jeans for autumn and as Topshop jeans are my favourite on the high street, I want them! They have more of a matte finish compared to other coated jeans and instantly add something extra to any outfit.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

It's rare that I change my foundation routine, once I find something that works I don't want to change (I can't count how many bottles of Nars Sheer Glow I have gone through). However, this new Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation is a game changer. This foundation is more matte than the previous one and from what I've seen so far it certainly is magic. I've had two samples so far and each time I am amazed how soft and lightweight the foundation feels on the skin while still providing a good coverage. It comes in such a wide range of shades for all skin tones too. This foundation makes me excited to change up my routine.

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand

So you may have guessed by my constant mention of Charlotte Tilbury that I'm a little bit obsessed with her products. Whenever she releases something new I want it instantly because I just know it will be good. This is exactly how I feel about the Mini Miracle Eye Wand. It's an illuminating, light reflecting concealer pen on one end and a hydrating eye cream on the other. It would be perfect for doing makeup on the go and for lazy girls like me who always forget to use eye cream. It's also supposed to erase the signs of dark circles under the eyes, which let's face it, we all need from time to time.

Nars NARSissist Day and Night Palette

Most people have a beauty weakness, that one type of product that you can't help but lust after and buy. One of my main beauty weaknesses is eye shadow palettes. If there are multiple eye shadows in one product, no matter how similar they are to other shades I have, I will somehow justify purchasing it! So as soon as I saw this Nars NARSissist Day and Night Palette in Space NK, I wanted it. It has a row of matte shades and a row of shimmer shades intended to take your makeup look from day to night. It also comes with a mini pencil eyeliner too! To top it all off it has pretty mirrored packaging on the front. I can see myself spending some Space NK ndulge points on this.

Marc Jacobs Decadence

Marc Jacobs has provided most of my favourite fragrances for as long as I can remember. This scent is more sophisticated and mature compared to the Daisy fragrances. It is more woody mixed with floral scents. The bottle alone makes me want to buy this perfume, it is designed to look like a handbag and would look perfect on anyone's dressing table. It would make a great night time/autumn fragrance and after spraying a sample I could smell it for the whole day. If only I was going through duty free sometime soon.

L'oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara

There comes a time in every beauty lover's life that they grow bored of using the same mascara over and over again, no matter how much they love it. I have come to the realisation that I need to update my mascara look and try something new. I want to try a mascara that I've never used before and I want to go back to a drugstore mascara. The L'oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara may be the one I need to try. I have seen a few beauty bloggers talk about it recently and it looks great on them. Let's hope it lives up to the hype!

What are you wishing for this October?

April Wishlist

This month's Wishlist has a bit on American theme going on, I'm going on holiday to the US for about 2 and half weeks in April and there a definitely a few bits and bobs I want to pick up when I'm there...

Rebecca Minkoff Hudson Moto Mini - $265.00

I really cannot decide whether to be naughty when I go on holiday and splash out on this gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff bag, I don't really have any small handbags so this would be perfect to carry around in the summer. I would get the black one as I could wear it with everything and I love the gold hardware on it too. What do you think - to buy or not to buy?

Marc Jacobs Beauty - The Lolita Palette - $59.00

Ever since Marc Jacobs launched his make-up collection last year, I have been dying to get my hands on some pieces- especially this palette called The Lolita. From all the reviews I've read they seem to be amazing quality eyeshadows with good pigmentation. Its has a mix if shimmery and matte neutral colours which I know I would get a lot of wear out of. $59.00 sounds like a lot but if you convert it into pounds it works out at being about £35 for 7 eyeshadows, in MAC the same amount of eyeshadows would be £70- that is my justification for buying it anyway!

Kate Spade New York Map Scarf - $128.00

This actually also featured on my December Fashion Wishlist but here it is again as I might get a chance to buy it this time. I love the bright yellow and contrasting black; I think it would be perfect for spring, and I also adore the detailed Manhatten map on the scarf as well. It's so unique, I've never seen anything like it before. As much as I love this scarf, I think this one will be staying as a wish- otherwise my America shopping list will be far too long and expensive!

Sophie Kinsella- Wedding Night - £5.99

It's time to stock up on some holiday reading books so I was really pleased when I saw Sophie Kinsella has released a new book. I love her books, the Shopaholic series where the first chick-lit books I read when I was 12 or 13 and I've loved all her books since. I know they are not the worlds most high-brow and intellectual books but they make really good holiday reading.

New Look Black and Gold Cat Eye Sunglasses - £9.99

I want some cheap sunglasses to take on holiday as I don't like taking my expensive ones on the beach where I will most likely lose or sit on them. I love cat eye sunglasses at the minute, I think they look super chic and elegant and at £9.99 you can't really go wrong.

Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturising Balm - £35.00

I am always on the hunt for a new moisturising foundation as I have never found one I have completely fallen in love with, I think this Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser will be the next one to try. Again, I think this one will remain a wish this month as I have given up buying make-up for lent (this rule only applies on British soil - I can still buy make-up when I'm in America!) but I think I will definitely be buying it next month.

Emma Hardie Cleanser - £34.00

I keep hearing good things about this cleanser and I think it's only going to be a matter of time before I cave in and buy it, my Dermalogica cleanser has just about ran out too so April will be the perfect time to buy it.

Sephora Classic Mineral Powder Brush #45 - $24.00

I saw this featured on a post by one of my favourite beauty bloggers ViviannaDoesMakeup. She describes it as a buffing brush that can be used for all different types of make-up, including liquids, powders and creams. I've had a few Sephora brushes before and they were all really good quality so I think this would be an all-round great brush to have in my make-up collection.

The Best of New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2014

Last week it was New York Fashion Week, kicking off the beginning of fashion weeks across the globe for Autumn/Winter 2014. New York Fashion week is always my favourite week for runway shows, especially for Autumn/Winter, and this year was no exception. These were the best runway shows from the week.

Donna Karan
Donna Karan's collection was incredible as always with a focus on black, sheer, sparkles and some daring red pieces to fill the collection. Karlie Kloss, who made many appearances on the catwalk throughout NYFW, walked the runway sporting one of the more daring flowing red dresses.

Tory Burch

Tory Burch showcased some wearable and casual outfits on her catwalk with cosy oversized jumpers, and dark colours like blacks, greys and dark blues. Tory Burch showcased many patterns and embellishments with some metallics making an appearance. I loved the playfulness of this show with a mirrored catwalk and most models wearing knee high socks and heels.

DKNY

DKNY was another favourite of New York Fashion Week. This collection was tailored to a younger audience, compared to the Donna Karan show, and the whole collection showed attitude. All the models wore Yankee Baseball Caps and most of the designs featured black too. I love Donna's work as she really shows what it's like to dress like a fashionable New Yorker. In fact the model's weren't professional models but actually creative locals of New York.

Diane Von Furstenberg

Diane Von Furstenberg showcased some unique prints on her catwalk. Many of the prints were mixed with other prints and even the catwalk featured the one of the prints. She also showed some glamorous golden and sparkly dresses towards the end of the show. But don't worry, she still paid homage to her classic wrap dress. Models on the runway included Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss.

Prabal Gurung

Once again fur made an appearance in Prabal Gurung's show. There was also a noticeable selection of grey mixed with jewel tones like sapphire and garnet. Prabal Gurung's show was not only noticeable because of the clothes. A streaker in a crown and trench coat decided to steal the show by hijacking the runway! However Gurung showed a sense of humour towards the event by handing out plastic crowns at the show's after party.

Rag and Bone

Rag and Bone showcased wearable items of clothing with a stylish twist. The show has been said to be typical of Rag and Bone's "advanced contemporary" style. The clothes were youthful and were all about mix and match with different patterns and textures. One of my favourite looks was Karlie Kloss sporting a silk bomber jacket mixed with a plaid skirt.

Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacob's runway show was one of the most talked about shows of the week. This show was Marc's main concern during fashion week due to him stepping down as creative director from Louis Vuitton and taking a step back from Marc by Marc Jacobs. The clothes were incredible yet muted and included furs and chiffon dresses. The show was also talked about because Kendall Jenner appeared on the runway in a sheer, and rather revealing, top that had everyone talking about her debut fashion week catwalk.

Jason Wu

Jason Wu's runway show was perfect for the modern and elegant woman. With fitted dresses and slicked back hair, these clothes exuded class and sophistication. The collection seemed timeless and wearable due to the blacks and greys throughout. I also loved the shoes and makeup that went with the clothes.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham's runway show was one of my favourites from this year's fashion week. I loved the sleek and classic designs and neutral colours of black and white. Her designs showed elements of both masculinity and femininity including both ruffles and chains with strong silhouettes. The collection seemed high fashion but also wearable too. Her show was also talked about because her whole family were in the front row supporting her throughout.

Vera Wang

Vera Wang's was my favourite catwalk show from New York Fashion Week. The clothes ranged from extremely wearable to extremely glamorous. The whole collection was made up of blacks and greys and included patterns, embellishments, fur, oversized jumpers, leather and metallics. The designs of the dresses towards the end of the show were just incredible too.

Overall I really loved the designs this year at NYFW. There were so many great shows that I struggled to narrow down my favourites. The most popular trends included blacks and greys, patterns and embellishments. I can't wait for Autumn/Winter 2014 now!
