October Favourites

It's now way too far into November already and this year seems to be flying by. However, the end of a month means a favourites post. Here is what I've been loving throughout October.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Mattes Lipstick in Divine Wine

This has been my favourite lipstick of the month. It's the perfect autumn/winter dark, berry shade and the matte formula stays for hours and hours while still being creamy and easy to apply. I've gone to restaurants and gone to the cinema with it on and it's lasted the entire time, while eating and drinking. It also works really well as a day or a night shade. I would definitely recommend this lipstick and I can't wait to try some other shades.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze

I bought this bronzer a while back and instantly loved it. It's pigmented but not too over the top and gives you an instant sun-kissed look. There's a bit of shimmer in it but it doesn't make your face sparkle, it just adds a nice glow. I bought the lighter shade luminous bronze as I like a more subtle bronzer/blusher look and it's the perfect shade for me. I sweep it along my cheekbones, along the jawline and on my temples to complete my makeup look of the day.

Stila Soul Eye Palette

I've mentioned this Stila palette in a favourites post before but I haven't loved a palette like this in a very long time. I use it nearly every day and when I don't use it I wish I had. It has a mixture of shimmers and mattes that are so highly pigmented. The colours last all day and blend seamlessly together. I also love the variety of shades in the palette that can be used day or night. My two favourites are Kitten, a champagne colour that is available as a single shade, and Thought, a shimmery taupe shade.

Kiko Dark Tide Eyeliner in Black

I had heard of Kiko Cosmetics a few times on blogs and Youtube videos but never thought about buying anything or trying to find where to get items. Then a shop opened in my local shopping centre. They have so many products to choose from for a very reasonable price. After a lot of browsing, I picked up the Dark Tide Eyeliner from their latest collection. I wanted an eyeliner that could go on my waterline but could also stay put like the Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'n' Kohl pencils but for a lower price. A sales assistant showed me swatches on the back of her hand that hadn't budged all day and it had more of a waxy consistency. I have used it pretty much everyday since and it stays put all day and is great for lining the waterline. I haven't really used it for my upper lash line yet on its own but it seems like it is a long lasting, easy to use liner.

Kate Moss Rimmel Nail Varnish in Venus

In my last favourites I was loving the Kate Moss Rimmel Nail Varnish in Hip Hop. It was a really summery coral red so I thought I'd buy a more autumnal shade. I chose Venus, a dark purple colour, and I can't get enough of it. It lasts a really long time on the nails, which is quite the accomplishment for me. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this nail varnish.

Kerastase Masque Force Architecte

For years and years my hair has been extremely damaged. I have naturally curly hair that I don't know how to deal with. It's often frizzy and the curls are uneven. From a young age I have straightened my hair and probably won't stop, no matter how much my mum and hairdresser tell me to. I try to use products that will restore damage and keep my locks as healthy and strong as possible so I invested in a Kerastase hair mask. I'm not usually one to buy a high end hair product but everything Kerastase was on sale and I've always wanted to try their products. This mask really makes my hair feel healthier. I leave it on for 5-10 minutes in the shower before washing it out and my hair instantly feels smoother. It also smells incredible which is always a bonus with a hair product.

Zara Necklace

It's been a while since I bought a good bit of jewelry. I tend to stick to the same minimalistic and simple pieces everyday. I saw this gorgeous necklace in Zara and thought it would make a great day time statement necklace over basic jumpers. I've received loads of compliments when wearing it and it really dresses up an everyday outfit, and is great for going out too.

Muse of the Month: Gigi Hadid

This month's muse is model of the moment Gigi Hadid. She's the current queen of casual ensembles and catwalks. She's also the best friend of Kendall Jenner and is dating Joe Jonas. She's also recently been confirmed to walk in this years Victoria's Secret show, as well as starring in Topshop and H&M x Balmain campaigns. We can't wait to see what Gigi will do next.

October Wishlist

As my beauty collection is growing more and more, and as I run out of storage more and more, this months October Wishlist is more fashion weighted. Of course there are still some beauty related products though! Here are the things I can't wait to get my hands on in October.

Mango Black Lapels Wool Coat

Some people dread the days when Summer comes to an end. I, however, love it when autumn arrives. Who doesn't love comfy jumpers, blankets and warm cups of coffee on a crisp morning? Another autumn favourite of mine is when you can start wearing a warm coat. A coat can pull an entire outfit together and this one from Mango certainly will! I love the waterfall over sized shape and that it would go with so many outfits.

Topshop Upper East Side Sweatshirt

Another thing I love about autumn is sporting comfy jumpers. They are so easy to style and throw on on those cold early mornings. Topshop does some great autumn jumpers. They have recently started making really soft slogan jumpers with names of cities on them. I, of course, wanted this Upper East Side one as soon as I saw it. If I can't live there and pretend to be on Gossip Girl this jumper will make a good substitute.

Topshop Coated Jeans

I've wanted a pair of coated jeans since as long as I can remember but never got round to buying them. Topshop have just brought out some new coated jeans for autumn and as Topshop jeans are my favourite on the high street, I want them! They have more of a matte finish compared to other coated jeans and instantly add something extra to any outfit.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

It's rare that I change my foundation routine, once I find something that works I don't want to change (I can't count how many bottles of Nars Sheer Glow I have gone through). However, this new Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation is a game changer. This foundation is more matte than the previous one and from what I've seen so far it certainly is magic. I've had two samples so far and each time I am amazed how soft and lightweight the foundation feels on the skin while still providing a good coverage. It comes in such a wide range of shades for all skin tones too. This foundation makes me excited to change up my routine.

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand

So you may have guessed by my constant mention of Charlotte Tilbury that I'm a little bit obsessed with her products. Whenever she releases something new I want it instantly because I just know it will be good. This is exactly how I feel about the Mini Miracle Eye Wand. It's an illuminating, light reflecting concealer pen on one end and a hydrating eye cream on the other. It would be perfect for doing makeup on the go and for lazy girls like me who always forget to use eye cream. It's also supposed to erase the signs of dark circles under the eyes, which let's face it, we all need from time to time.

Nars NARSissist Day and Night Palette

Most people have a beauty weakness, that one type of product that you can't help but lust after and buy. One of my main beauty weaknesses is eye shadow palettes. If there are multiple eye shadows in one product, no matter how similar they are to other shades I have, I will somehow justify purchasing it! So as soon as I saw this Nars NARSissist Day and Night Palette in Space NK, I wanted it. It has a row of matte shades and a row of shimmer shades intended to take your makeup look from day to night. It also comes with a mini pencil eyeliner too! To top it all off it has pretty mirrored packaging on the front. I can see myself spending some Space NK ndulge points on this.

Marc Jacobs Decadence

Marc Jacobs has provided most of my favourite fragrances for as long as I can remember. This scent is more sophisticated and mature compared to the Daisy fragrances. It is more woody mixed with floral scents. The bottle alone makes me want to buy this perfume, it is designed to look like a handbag and would look perfect on anyone's dressing table. It would make a great night time/autumn fragrance and after spraying a sample I could smell it for the whole day. If only I was going through duty free sometime soon.

L'oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara

There comes a time in every beauty lover's life that they grow bored of using the same mascara over and over again, no matter how much they love it. I have come to the realisation that I need to update my mascara look and try something new. I want to try a mascara that I've never used before and I want to go back to a drugstore mascara. The L'oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara may be the one I need to try. I have seen a few beauty bloggers talk about it recently and it looks great on them. Let's hope it lives up to the hype!

Muse of the Month: Blair Waldorf

It's September and that means it's time to go back to school and university. And who does back to school chic better than Blair Waldorf? I have a little bit of a Gossip Girl obsession and have seen the series a few times and every time I watch it I love Blair's style more and more. Whether she's dressed in school girl inspired outfits, bright coats, patterned tights, a classic blouse or a little black dress, Blair always looks fantastic and conquers the Upper East  Side at the same time! She defines power dressing and certainly doesn't hold back in telling others how to dress either. In the words of Blair "fashion is the most powerful art there is. It's movement, design and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we'd like to be". I know I'd certainly like to be like Blair Waldorf.

Oh and remember.. tights are not pants!
What do you like the most about Blair's style?
